TETZBO

Tetzbo is the stationery alter ego of Yoshikazu Takai, a celebrated Japanese sculptor whose monumental works became landmarks in public spaces across Japan throughout the 1980s. After decades of working at grand scale, he began crafting pens by hand from brass and silver, each one shaped, twisted, oxidised and polished entirely by himself.

The name Tetzbo comes from the Japanese word for iron rod. His signature Chibien series, shaped like a miniature pencil with a hexagonally faceted brass body and a tip finished to resemble a freshly blade-sharpened pencil.
